The goal of this show is to help YOU become THAT person in the office who delivers the giant killing PR results that stands out from everyone else.
Former news editor, journalist and PR officer Richard Midson seeks out the best practical ideas, theory from his own experience and front line examples, with the sole aim of helping the show’s listeners become the most influential people in any PR operation.
It could be utilising AI, psychology or reviewing cutting edge and clever campaigns.

No it is not a business. The Public Relations Podcast is passion (hobby) project of former PR, journalist, broadcaster and news editor, Richard Midson. He’s not allowed to charge due to his current day job. It was created out of his wish to start a conversation around PR that would help everyone out. Because it’s not a business, there are going to be some “rough edges” and sorry if you find some. There aren’t enough hours in the day!
Are you running a funded startup?
OR
Working in small (or big) marketing or PR team at your organisation?
Are you trying to build “emotional” connections with the public?
Are you always short of resources (time and money)?

In a marketing team but focused on public relationships
Are you trying to build emotional connections with the public?
Are you always short of resources (time and money)?
It’s no longer good enough to send out a press release and say you’ve built a “relationship” with the “public”.
It is no longer enough to send out a message repeatedly like traditional marketing and hope people will take it on board.
To achieve results today and stand out you need to have a two-way, emotional relationship with your customers.
Public Relations (what this show is all about) is about building that relationship.
This show does indeed cover traditional press relations because it’s still relevant but it also focuses on any frontline technique that could help you build that “emotional relationship” between your organisation and the “public”.
Done right, modern public relations can turn the public into your greatest marketing team. It can turn customers or followers into your most loyal evangelists, who come back repeatedly because they love what you do. It can even turn people into advocates who become powerful allies when things go a little awry!
This show takes the view that it’s Public Relations people who best understand what is needed to build relationships and in turn are best placed to develop these new “public relationships” in the world today.
Yes, PR has changed but if you focus on relationship building, your skills in this show’s opinion have never been more needed.
