The Public Relations Podcast
Inside the campaigns, careers and decisions shaping PR today.
Each episode is centered around a campaign the guest has been working on themselves.
We use that to unpack what is actually happening in PR and comms today.
It’s for clients, practioners, students and anyone who has read the theory and now wants to hear the practise.
No guru talk, no grand ideas. This is real PR as it happens today.
There are also general discussion and tip episodes.
Season 9 is different…
This year we’re starting to help real-world organisations solve their comms challenges.
We’re making two types of episode this season. The ones you know from the past with chats from the frontline of comms and solo episodes but now these new special episodes too.
We’re not just claiming PR works.
We’re now proving it.

Inside PR
What are people really saying?
The information behind the fluff

WHO IS IT FOR?
Whether you are a potential client, agency, comms pro, or student, you’ll find us talking about campaigns that are actually happening in the world today.
We avoid the guru talk and big, unproven ideas and focus on what people are actually seeing as they do things.
We ask, what exciting things are people trying that are working? What challenges should everyone be aware of? What opportunities are there to use strategic comms and PR today?
It’s PR and strategic comms in action, from the frontline.

CAMPAIGNS FROM THE FRONTLINE
Most episodes focus on a recent campaign the guest has been involved in. We talk through ‘high-level overviews’ of the techniques they used and what they saw. For example, how they integrated AI and new or old techniques into the campaign.
Plus, we talk to technologists building the technology platforms of the future. We also have some solo episodes looking at key developments in comms, always in a practical way.
And finally, comms is global, and we speak to people on every continent to learn new ideas and techniques.

“PR” in 2025
PR HAS CHANGED
If you came to The Public Relations Podcast looking for advice on how to send a press release, then you might want to think again.
Whether you call it PR or Strategic Comms, the ability to connect with the public today, in the age of AI, has never been more important, and the techniques used are more diverse than ever.
Now that anyone can buy AI-optimised ads and branding, everyone is doing it. So how do you stand out?
The only way to do it, to maintain your reputation and build viral brand loyalty today, is by communicating with people beyond ads.
PR is about developing real emotional relationships between your organisation and the public. Ones that build loyalty, build sales, momentum, defences when times are tough…. and more.
It’s about influencing society, discussions and decisions.
Whatever your goals, PR today is crucial, and that’s what this podcast is all about.
