For ambitious PR and communications people in organisations of ALL sizes

Welcome to the Public Relations Podcast AND Newsletter!

If it’s your job to pull PR miracles out of thin air every week, then this project is for you!

I’ve been in communications (a national news editor, broadcaster, public relations officer and in technology) for 25 years and we all know things have changed.

It is no longer enough to send out a press release. We now have to build real human connections between our organizations and the public. Yet, time is tight and budgets are even smaller.

What’s in it?

Each week we search the globe for ideas that we can reverse engineer to achieve the same impact but with less time and effort.

It’s a bit like life-hacking but for comms people and, it’s all free!

Topics covered

We’ve covered getting large speaking gigs, “experience” marketing theory, case studies of how companies grew global brands and more, but all of this is done in a “scrappy” (minimal resources) way.

Who follows the project?

More than 2000 people downloaded the last episode of season 2.

They vary from PR agencies to small and medium sized businesses to sole traders. All are looking for ways to generate giant killing PR and comms with less resources.

There are just three steps to get involved…

Step 1

Sign up to the newsletter here. It’s a Monday lunchtime read with tutorials and all the extras we couldn’t fit in the podcast.

Who is the Public Relations Podcast for?

If you have been tasked with trying to build a deep, meaningful relationship with people and you are one of only a handful of people (or the only person) in the marketing department of your organisation then this show is for you.

If you don’t have time to keep up with all the PR buzzwords and are not in a position to engage an agency, then sign up to The Public Relations Podcast and Newsletter and we’ll provide you with a bunch of ideas each week that we think you can use, for free.

What principles drive this show?

Public Relations has changed. It’s no longer enough to just send out a press release and say your PR is done. That was PR for the 20th century. In today’s competitive environment, you can’t just win people’s minds with great products, you have to win their hearts as well. That is what this show is all about.

Who presents it?

A 25 year veteran of the communications space spent in journalism, PR, social media and high tech media.
