It’s no longer good enough to send out a press release and say you’ve built a “relationship” with the “public”.
In this modern era, the public is demanding more from organisations. They expect a real relationship and that can’t be acheived through traditional marketing or press alone. It needs a hybrid approach.
This show believes the answer is a “PR-led” marketing campaign. That’s a campaign focused on building real emotional relationships with PR methodology backed up by any technique that exists.
This is different to traditional marketing in that it is about a “two way” conversation, not broadcasting at people. It’s different to traditonal PR in that it goes way beyond “press” and embraces every technique, including paid content.
It’s no longer good enough to have a good slogan, everyone does. To acheive result today in this new era, organisations must build relationships with the public to stand out. We believe the answer is a “PR-led marketing campaign”.
For this reason we also believe PR-led skills are about to see a renaissance. The PR role may be absorbed into the general term of “marketing” or “communications” in future but it will still be a distinct set of skills that organisations have to have to market themselves in the years ahead, especially in the AI era.
