An introduction to Monitoring your brand
Chenda Ngak (Automattic.com) says the following…
“anybody can write on social media and have an opinion today, and to be honest, even if it’s not accurate, it can win, or lose, the hearts and minds of people.”
When people speak, if it falls on the right (or wrong ears) it can go viral and be very hard to stop.
We need to remember that everything we do as an organization sends out a message.
What we used to control by putting out messages we agreed with into press releases, is now being done all day long in hundreds of different ways by our own teams on social media and by our customers when they react to how we have interacted with them.
Social media has turned everyone, our supporters, customers, staff, followers, and even ourselves into megaphones for our organisation.
