For 5 years now….

“The Society“

Knowledge is everywhere in 2025…what matters now is execution

The Society is a place for individuals who want to work together to acheive giant killing results

The Public Relations Podcast is forming a small, confidential group of individuals who want to work together to excel in campaign execution.

You could be a business owner, work in marketing, PR or comms. Most people will be in their first few years of doing this. They will be people who want others in their office (anywhere in the world) to say, “How the heck did they do that!!”

There will be just 5 places in the first group.

What it is

This isn’t a course. It’s not a rehashed list of tips or theory you can find on Google or ChatGPT for free in second.

This isn’t another empty forum where one or two well-meaning people post things they know while everyone else is quiet.

This isn’t another “theory group” where people discuss often genuinely helpful ideas, but ones that rarely applied or acted on.

This is a place that drives results through action.

A place where expectations are high.

We will judge success based on actual results, not talk. That means more effective campaigns, prominence of you or your clients in the real world, profits, pay and progress.

How it works

We meet once a month for a live, structured group session (under Chatham House rules*).

In each session….

  1. We briefly examine a recent global communications news item to extract the key learnings and determine how to practically apply those ideas to your own efforts.
  2. We examine what is holding back each member from achieving the goal of standing out in their campaign work. We then work together to overcome those blockers, whether it’s personal or technical.
  3. We then work together to help a member who has a pressing campaign “problem” in a way that helps everyone. We agree on action steps to transform their experience of that issue before next month’s meeting.
  4. To round up each session, every member commits to an action that they will personally take by the next session that pushes them just beyond their current limits. This won’t just be a small personal goal, but something that stretches them.

And…..

Each month, there will also be a couple of online office hour sessions where society members can drop in for a chat or ask any questions they have.

Is it free?

No, and here is why.

There are a lot of free groups and courses out there. Today, we also have AI, which as we all know, can provide pretty good information on almost anything for free.

But as we also know, information does not lead to success.

Action does, and that’s what this society is about.

However, to make that work, to achieve actual results, we need to organise live sessions, follow-ups, check-ins and office hours. Things that take time and money to run.

Who is it for?

There are no absolute rules.

However, we think this sort of person will find it most useful.

The type of person

  • If you are ambitious: You are probably still relatively new to the craft, e.g. 6 months – 2 years.
  • If you believe success comes from delivering amazing campaign results: We won’t avoid office politics entirely but our focus will be firmly on making members stand out through amazing comms results.
  • If you are still genuinely excited by comms strategy: If you are passionate about what you do, rather than it just being “a job” to you. We all need to get paid, but the right person sees this as more than just a salary.
  • You are good at sticking to society rules: Yep, the society has some rules (see below).
  • You are focused on the craft, not the politics behind industries: In the society, anyone is welcome. We discuss the craft, not our feelings about any particular sector. If politics is more important to you than the “craft of comms”, then this is not the place for you.

The type of job you have

  • Marketers, PR people, comms pros, startups

(Our rules) What are Chatham House rules?

We don’t need to tell you that the communications space requires careful handling.

That’s why all members of The Society agree to operate under Chatham House Rules, with one extra layer.

Chatham House Rules is a principle from a UK international think tank. In simple terms, it means you are free to use any ideas, insights or strategies shared in The Society in your own work. But you must never reveal who said them, where they work, or anything that might identify them outside the meeting.

We also take this a step further.

You may not use anything discussed in a way that could harm another member’s reputation, confidence, or client relationships.

To join, you’ll need to agree to these rules.

Breaking them will result in immediate and permanent removal.

How do I join?

There is no “open application”.

Members will be added as soon as there is space.
